Recipe for Kadha drink:

Ingredients required for Kadha:

  • 5-6 Tulsi leaves
  • 1 black cardamom or 2 green cardamoms
  • ½ cup diced raw turmeric
  • 1 tbsp of cloves
  • 1 tbsp of black peppercorns
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 5-6 tbsp of sliced ginger
  • 1 tbsp of raisins
  • 1 tsp honey

How to make the Kadha drink:

  1. Take the washed and peeled slices of turmeric and ginger in the previously mentioned quantities and make a fine paste. You may use a mortar and pestle to achieve the desired fineness.
  2. Boil the mixture in 4 cups of water till a faint yellow colour becomes noticeable and the whiff of ginger is strong. An approximate of 5-6 minutes should be enough to attain the requisite result.
  3. Proceed to add the rest of the aforementioned ingredients to the turmeric-ginger water. Let the brew boil on medium heat and for 15-20 minutes.
  4. The water will reduce as it heats so feel free to adjust the quantity as per how many cups you want to make.
  5. Strain the bowl.
  6. Add a teaspoon of honey to your cup for taste and added benefits. Your herbal drink is now ready for you to enjoy.
